Aside from Paphos’ well-known beaches and historically-rich regions, many travel to Paphos & Cyprus to take advantage of the island’s golf courses.
New courses are being completed regularly and there is now a good choice of courses within a 30 minute drive of most villas and of each other. Peak time for golf in Paphos & Cyprus is September to November and from February to May when the weather elsewhere in Europe is not as good as it is in Paphos.
If playing June-August then you can take advantage of some very good off-season deals available when the courses are quieter too.

Aphrodite Hills Golf Club
One of the most notable golf courses in Paphos is the Aphrodite Hills Golf Club, which is built upon two plateaus overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and part of the Aphrodite Hills Resort. Designed in 2002 by renowned course architect Cabell B. Robinson, the course was rated the number one course in Cyprus (pre opening of Elea Estate) by Golf Digest Magazine and is the perfect location for playing golf in the paphos area.
The course hosted the final of the Europro professional Tour in September 2010. Feedback was very positive all round and the courses’ reputation has been enhanced in European Golf as a result.
The golf courses in Paphos District, Cyprus all have terrific views of the mountains and the sea.
Enjoy the views of the Mediterranean as you tee off on Bermuda grass from many areas of the course. The 7th is the signature hold across the valley but the 8th is the most scenic (pictured right)and provides inspiration for all shots on that hole. The 18-hole course is ideal for amateurs and professionals alike and the resort has many other amenities so that families looking for the ultimate Cyprus golf experience can enjoy their time in Paphos together, both on and off the course.
The resort also offers tennis, stand alone spa & state-of-the-art fitness facilitymaking it perfect for serious golfers or those who travel with non-golfers, who wish to stay in shape off the course. After your workout, soak in a hydrotherapy tub to relieve all the aches and pains of working out on the course or in the gym.
If you stay around and have a meal in Village square, you have a great choice of eateries and watering holes all just across the road from the main clubhouse.
Secret Valley Golf Club
The Secret Valley Golf Club, located on the southern tip of Paphos, is an 18-hole championship course laid out amongst sculpted rock formations and beautiful greenery. The layout is playable, not overly long but very challenging and ideal for those who are serious about their golf. For the beginner, the club features a driving range, putting greens, chipping areas and golf clinics.
If your family prefers not to play the sport, the club also features a bar and restaurant with comfortable verandas overlooking the course on which to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Tsada Golf Club – (Now Minthis Hills)
Check out also the Tsada Golf Club – in the process of being renamed Minthis Hills due the expansion of property development in the immediate area. Built in 1994, the 18-hole course was the first to be laid out in Cyprus and is set in the grounds of a 12th century monastery, which makes for great scenery while you’re teeing off.
Located 550 meters above sea level, the course is perfect for golfers who can’t stay away during the hot summer months as a cool sea/mountain breeze is always certain. A perfect Cyprus golf holiday location for the family, the club also has a pool and tennis court, for the non-golfers in your group, as well as a restaurant and bar to relax in after your game.
No matter where you choose to tee off in Cyprus, it’s unlikely that you’ll face a bad day. Though you’re game might not be great, the weather will almost always be inviting and the Mediterranean views will almost always be perfect.
NOW OPEN – Nick Faldo Designed- ‘Elea Estate Golf Club’
The much anticipated opening of Paphos’ next fantastic golf course has arrived! Elea Estate, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, (near Paphos airport) is now open for play. The course has a challenging but very playable layout in immaculate condition with spectacular Sea views from most areas of the course. The clubhouse is something to behold with massive presence and stature from the outside and a real luxurious (and hospitable) atmosphere on the inside.
From arriving at the course and having your car parked by the caddymasters in the underground car park to your round of golf and sumptuous food and cool drinks served in style, you cannot help but be overwhelmed by the experience at Elea Estate.
The course itself measures 6900 yards from the back (black) tees with 2-3 tees in front making it playable for all. The driving range is inspiring with manicured grass bays hitting down to approximately 15 greens with the sea as the backdrop. There are 2 chipping greens, one with bunkers and a putting green all designed to hone your skills before or after your round.
Buggies and electric trolleys can be hired and the pro shop has a great selection of designer labeled clothes embossed with the ‘Elea Estate’ logo.
The addition of ‘Elea Estate’ makes Paphos & Cyprus a much more viable option for golf holidaymakers with a good choice of courses available in the immediate area. (Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley and Minthis Hills being the others).
Elea Estate Golf Course designed by Nick Faldo is well worth the visit.
New- Paphos Golf Driving Range
Paphos Golf Driving Range is conveniently situated between Paphos and Coral Bay, opposite ‘The Azia’ hotel and ‘New Horizon’ Bar & Restaurant. With 27 bays, and sun covered seating it is the perfect place to enjoy a few hours or a morning/afternoon. Food and drinks are served all day, there is tuition for beginners and also club hire available. For the serious golfer, there are challenging pins and greens to aim at with good quality balls and mats.
