Pelathousa is a traditional mountain village in the Polis area of Paphos District, Cyprus. It's a picturesque village famous for its efforts to maintain the beauty and the traditions of Cyprus.

Churches such as Panayia Chryselousa constructed at the end of the 15th century with Byzantine and Gothic elements, Profitis Elias, Ayios Constantinos, Ayios Charalambos and the country church of Archangel Michael provide for a unique perspective of the village's history.

The local area is primarily agricultural, producing cereals, olives and almonds with its wonderful climate producing many delightful fruits and vegetables such as cherries, avocado, mango, watermelons, apples, lemons and oranges in abundance.

The famous museum of Arsinoe in Peristerona displays an attractive collection of objects from the Byzantine period, including Byzantine icons from the 13th to 19th centuries, as well as wood carved ecclesiastical items, local and imported silver and metal artefacts as well as textiles. Rare books and manuscripts are also on display. Peristerona is situated between the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the spectacular mountains of Paphos Forest and the Troodos. Walking in the forests is a delight. Filled with pine trees, fruit and olive trees, wild flowers and herbs and vineyards the air is scented and the views spectacular. The nearby village of Steni (also steeped in tradition) hosts a coffee shop with wireless internet access and a very good traditional taverna. Travel a little further into the hills and you will find Lysos, which has a very good horse riding school and is also home to a very good traditional Cyprus taverna, with neighbouring shops and the more widely known Paradisos Hills Hotel which does an excellent Sunday buffet as well as a themed Indian night on a Friday. There is also a shooting club, mainly doing clay pigeon shooting with spectacular scenery as a backdrop.

Heading back towards the coastline and you will find the town of Polis. Latchi beach is renowned as one of the best in Cyprus and not as crowded as the beaches in and around Paphos itself. Latchi beach is famous for its clear blue sea, soft white sand and a great selection of water-sports which are readily available. The water-sports available at Latchi include diving, snorkelling, sailing, banana rides and a great deal more. Bring your UK driving licence and you can even hire a boat and explore the Akamas coast from the sea (special discount for our customers). Drop anchor when you feel like it and swim or snorkel in the warm crystal blue water of the Mediterranean Sea. For the more adventurous, you can explore the Akamas nature reserve and go all the way round to Lara Beach famous for its turtles and another wonderful unspoilt beach. You can also venture to the nearby villages of Miliou, Droushia and Panagia or further on to Kathikas with its vineyards and wineries. Other fantastic scenery can be taken in at Cedar Valley and the Troodos mountain range where in winter, you can even ski!

Paphos airport is 45 minutes away by mostly good quality roads with English road signs. Visit 'The Lost Castle' (for a taste of the real Cyprus) and you won't be disappointed.

''We had the best time on our second visit to this beautiful villa and hope to return again next year. The villa is beautiful, clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

The location is certainly remote and definitely needs a car, however that's why we love it. The peace and quiet and beautiful views can't be beaten. We went to Asian Farm in Kathikas, an absolutely beautiful Asian restaurant with Fantastic food and service and certainly not what it looks like from the outside, I'd advise booking though and Moustakilias in Polis, family run restaurant with good value food and drinks who welcomed us back like old friends. We also used Latchi Watersports for boat hire which was a fantastic day out and visited pafos zoo which is a bit of a family tradition

Your company is a pleasure to deal with and now I don't think I'd use anyone else. Communication has been fantastic and Debbie and her family at the villa are lovely A full length mirror at the villa might be nice otherwise everything is perfect

We will definitely return. I think we've found our happy place in Cyprus now and value our time off so why take a chance on something we might not enjoy so much. Hope to deal with you again soon. Many Thanks Paul '

''Amazing! It was an incredibly peaceful place to be with lots of outdoor spots to relax in (the downstairs hammock was a particular favourite!), beautiful views, fab pool - it was exactly as we had hoped it would be from the photos online.

For us it was a perfect location! When he was taking us there, the taxi driver from the airport told us the villa was "perfect for people who don't want to see anyone" and he was spot on! We were really keen to not hear anyone else and we didn't! The views from the villa were beautiful. It was an easy 12 minute drive to the supermarket though and only a bit further into Latchi, so for as much as we felt (happily) secluded in the villa, we didn't feel at all isolated / cut off from things.

We enjoyed Latchi watersports - thanks for the discount! We did waterskiiing, hired a boat for 4 hours and parasailing. All were fab but the parasailing was awesome and we would highly recommend the boat hire to visit the Blue Lagoon and other bays.
Debbie recommended some great restaurants which we enjoyed too - Noma's (Latchi), Arsinoe Fish Tavern and Moustakallis Tavern (both in Polis). We also had a 1.5 horse trek using 'Maria's Horse Trekking' which we found through a Google search in nearby Lysos which we would also really recommend. It was a fantastic way to see more of the local scenery.

No complaints at all! You made it so easy to arrange a transfer from the airport and hire a car, plus it was great to have the watersports discount. Debbie was so lovely and friendly.

As you can probably tell, we had an amazing holiday!
Many thanks, Vanessa'

''The villa itself was lovely. Clean and well equipped. The location is amazing. Really is away from it all. We liked and can recommend Moustakallis in Polis. The Last Castle, Viklari. Oniro by the Sea. Lysos Tavern. All amazing in very different ways. A visit to the Kolios winery for wine tasting and the meze is a good trip out, with amazing views. Bay Jewellery in Pissouri, lovely shop run by a very talented jewellery maker.

Very satisfied with your service and from the owner. Debbie is very welcoming.

Will shortly be booking again for next year!

Kind regards, Tracy''

''The villa was lovely - beautifully decorated with everything you could want it was definitely ‘home from home ‘ stunning views certainly quiet just what we needed to chill and relax.Slightly remote - about 1hr from Paphos but didn’t stop us going anywhere - car definitely needed

We can recommend a couple of restaurants/ tavernas in Polis - Parea - 5 star food & service & Moustakallis family run taverna

2nd time we have used your company - we have been coming to Cyprus for over 35 years and visited numerous resorts - by far your villas exceed all expectations - they are well looked after beautifully decorated and maintained - we will never use another company to book a villa with as the standard and service provided by yourselves is excellent from start to finish thoroughly recommend to anyone

Owner was Absolutely amazing - Debbie came to see us on the Sunday she was so lovely and helpful couldn’t have wished for a nicer owner and the welcome pack was well received after arriving late at night

Excellent service and I’ve recommended you to quite a few colleagues at work in the NHS '

''The villa was just perfect. It had everything it needed, the balcony was lovely to sit at in the mornings for breakfast and in the evenings for relaxing. The villa had been thoroughly thought out. The swimming pool was such a lovely temperature we were it in as early as 7am and sometimes as late as Midnight.

The kids loved the hammocks and the table tennis especially. The air con was definitively great to have in the bedrooms, kitchen and living room.

Such a beautiful place, it was instagram worthy (as they say) . I really didn’t want to leave!

And if they ever decide to sell (not that I think they will ha). Would buy that place in a heartbeat!

Whenever we go on holiday we always look to stay in villas. Location is really important to us. We always want an amazing view, and this place didn’t disappoint. Despite its location it was only a 10 minute drive to Polis town which had everything you needed. And we always look for something that is very private, with no neighbours or anyone over looking us, we couldn’t have asked for a better location.

We mainly stayed at the villa, but we did visit Moustakallis and Finikas in Polis. Both lovely meals but very much enjoyed the chicken Kebab in Finikas. Would highly recommend Latchi Watersports. We hired a self drive boat for the whole day. The Blue Lagoon was just stunning and the kids enjoyed going on the tubes behind the boat.

We also visited Paphos Harbour and had a meal there as well as visiting the zoo where we fed the elephant (my youngest said that was the best bit about the holiday).

You guys were absolutely great and so helpful and knowledgable. It was so easy to book and with the email reminders and recommendations it couldn’t have been better. Debbie was lovely and again so helpful with all her knowledge and recommendations of places to visit.'

''We have been visiting Cyprus every year for the past 22 years (except for when covid didn’t allow) and would like to say that this year was one of the best experiences with regards to booking, location of villa and communication with the villa owner. My family and I would like to thank not only you, but Debbie the owner of The Lost Castle villa. We had an amazing holiday this year and was very grateful for the advice Debbie gave us on places to visit. Debbie was very approachable and was very happy to help. We hired a speed boat through Latchi Watersports and was grateful for the discount code you kindly gave us. We found a really lovely restaurant in Polis called Chix Chox. The food and service was great and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely visit the villa again as we intend on returning to Cyprus every year, now that we can again. We would highly recommend your company and The Lost Castle villa.

Kind regards

''The villa is just perfect - spacious, clean and homely, it has everything you could possible want or need. Debbie came to see us with cakes, just a lovely touch and a lovely lady.

The location- Again it is perfect for us, we love the views across to the tree lined hills, the peace and quiet and not being overlooked is priceless.

We love Polis restaurants, Mustakallis and Finikas also Santa Barbara's at Argaka which the tables overlook the beach. Latsi is great for renting a boat and has many restaurants along the marina.

Very satisfied with your service, Steven has been excellent, so helpful when we had our flights cancelled twice he helped to re-arrange dates etc. Debbie is amazing, very approachable and we felt very comfortable. We had the most fantastic holiday, so relaxing and all our troubles seemed to disappear

''The Lost Castle was great - very comfortable, lovely villa, superb views, peace and quiet. The villa was very well appointed for self catering and we really appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack on our late arrival. Debbie popped by to say hi which was nice and the two times we had water issues they were very quick to respond and sort it out. We would definitely recommend the villa and would love to stay there again.

We’d highly recommend the Watermill at Steni for excellent and reasonably priced food and we went to Latchi Watersports a few times and they were excellent.

We were very satisfied with your services as agents and I wanted again to thank you for your prompt and helpful response to all my emails over the last year! Very satisfied with local owner response as per above. ''

''The villa was amazing, furnished to a very high spec with lots of space. It is in a fantastic spot with amazing views of the sea and mountains. Very tranquil and quiet with no direct neighbours. Even though high up it was only a 10-minute drive into Polis and then nearby Laitchi for provisions, dining, beaches, and water activities. The lovely village of Peristerona is very nearby with a mini market selling local produce and supplies. There are also other traditional villages at Lysos and Steni. We went for lunch the first day at La Terrassa in the central square in Polis which was very friendly and the food very good – big portions as are most of the restaurants in Cyprus. The central square is lovely with all the tavernas. We also went to Finikas a couple of times which has amazing food. The Watermill in Steni is lovely with very authentic home-made cooking.
We took a self-drive boat to the Blue Lagoon with beautiful clear waters – a lovely swim there. Best to go earlier than later as soon fills up with more boats but even then a lovely place to be. Unfortunately, we only had 6 days on this side of the Island as were at Aphrodite Hills on the south coast the first week. We absolutely loved the west side as far greener and lush with the beautiful traditional villages and authenticity of Cyprus.

The agent, Steven was so helpful with what was our last-minute booking and came back instantly with any questions asked. The local information supplied by him was well received in getting us familiar with the area. Steven was great as well as the owner Debbie. Debbie came up to see us, she is an amazing, bubbly, friendly person. She helped with any questions about the property and gave us a few tips on places to visit and things to do. Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie, she was always on hand by text to answer any questions whether about the property or how to get to places. Having never been to Cyprus before we absolutely loved it and will definitely be on our list of places to come back to and hopefully in the next year or two. Would love to come back to the Lost Castle in the future as its’ location and views are amazing. Thank you so much

'' This is our second visit (delayed from last year by the Covid Pandemic). The Lost Castle was clean, well maintained and had obviously been looked after as a family home. It avoided a sterile atmosphere and felt very welcoming.

The location is perfect, spectacular views of the mountains and sea. Quiet and peaceful but also very convenient for travel to Polis & Latchi for provisions shopping. I worked (and still sometimes do) in a highly stressful occupation, travelling to such places as Colombia, Afghanistan. Sierra Leon etc. All hot spots that require rest after deployment - Lost Castle is the ideal tonic for me and my family but I understand some may prefer a more bustling environment. One thing to note is that it is essential that you have a car.

Porto Latchi for excellent sea food and steaks with a beautiful beach side view. Kanalli Fish Restaurant up the coast to Pomos. About a 30/40 minute drive but worth it. Very good sea food and a spectacular view over the sea and the harbour.

LetsRentOnLine were efficient and kept me informed throughout my holiday. They recommended local restaurants and sports (such as diving, sailing etc). My daughter and I do dive but decided to rest this time!. The agent was also very helpful in answering questions on travel during Covid restrictions. They set our mind at rest.

The owner of the Lost Castle was both helpful and readily contactable. The owner was able to help book our return PCR tests and took great pains to ensure that our paperwork was correct for our return home.

From my perspective The Lost Castle is perfect if you seek peace. quiet and solitude. My wife and I enjoyed relaxing, while my daughter and her boyfriend were able to take days out seeing the sites. For my family it was a perfect holiday.

We have rented in Portugal but have been regular visitors to Cyprus which is our favourite. We intend to return to the Lost Castle in the near future if we can, Covid and work permitting. The only other place we have rented regularly is the Florida Keys which ties with Cyprus!

Kind regards, Guy

''The villa was wonderful. We had a great time. It had all the amenities we needed and more. It had an amazing view of the sea and was lovely and secluded. We took a trip to the sea caves area and dined at Sidayes which was one of the most fantastic meals we’ve ever had! As always your service was excellent. It was one of the reasons we decided to use you again, our service last time and this time was excellent. Debbie was so helpful and always responded quickly to any questions. We had a great time . ''

''The Lost castle was very well presented with everything you might need for your holiday available. Kitchen equipment was plentiful and the outside space was extensive. The location is the most peaceful we have visited in Cyprus. It was literally silent. The views were great. We only ate in Paphos on two occasions but would recommend Ficardo’s restaurant if you are willing to travel that far. The service provided by Lets Rent Online was, once again, first class. Debbie at the Lost Castle was very approachable. The service she provided was excellent. No issues I can think of. ''

''The villa was very nice and the photos on line did it justice. The outside space especially was beautiful and well maintained and the pool heating was perfect (we have often stayed at villas where the pool heating didn’t feel as though it was on despite us paying for it! ).

The location was perfect for us, we like peace & quiet and not to be overlooked, so it really did suit us. It is a little off the main roads but the directions were perfect and we found it in the dark without a problem. It was only a 10 minute drive to Polis, which is very pleasant. We didn’t go out very much, although had lunch at a restaurant called Chix Chox in Polis where we found the service and food to be very good.

We were very happy with the service provided by both yourself and Debbie, the owner of the villa. The information provided prior to departure was excellent and Debbie visited us on our first evening and nothing was too much trouble for her. We had a lovely welcome pack provided on arrival and she provided some wood for the fire pit for us when we enquired about trying to buy some as we had difficulty in finding any on our first day. She also put us in touch with a man who helped with some WiFi issues on a couple of occasions.

We will almost definitely visit Cyprus again next October, we are considering booking The Lost Castle again for the same week!

We did have a wonderful relaxing week at The Lost Castle, we loved this area (we have previously stayed closer to Paphos south of the airport) and a colleague of mine is already considering booking the property next summer.

Thank you for your excellent assistance

''The villa was clean, exactly as described. Lovely villa with all that you could ask for. There is always an shaded outside area for you to sit in, as the sun rotates around the villa and plenty or sunbathing near the pool as well. The location was stunning, views were breathtaking. The location of the villa is not as far from Polis as you think, once you've done the trip up and down the hill a couple of times. The added benefit of the mountain/ hill location is that even on a very hot day the beach/lower areas are very hot and humid, but when you return to the villa the cooling breeze is a welcome break from the heat/ humidity. The silence away from the main though fare was very relaxing and the noisiest part of the holiday was when goats/ livestock were being herded each morning, when you heard their bells ringing, it became a bit of a eye spy to see if we could see them.

The taverna in Steni and the roadside restaurant in Steni (The Watermill) plus the taverna in Lysos all give excellent food which is reasonably priced. The waterfall near the village of Katu Terra (I think) was a lovely drive and the village taverna there a welcome respite after the hike. If you are lucky to bump into Andreas there he may give you a tour of the village and it's history.

The service provided in all aspects was exceptional. Debbie was a beautiful person and was there for you if you needed her, but was not one of these villa owners who are constantly bugging you. Debbie very kindly allowed us to stay later on our last day as we had a late flight home, this made our last day very relaxing and we were so very appreciative of this.

We have no complaints what so ever and will use your services again to book our next villa. We are hoping to obtain the lost castle again''

''The Lost Castle is very well maintained, both inside and out. It is spacious and relaxing, and provides a home from home. The location is perfect for us. The views are amazing and the location is so quiet, with barely a car coming along the road. It provides a beautiful and peaceful backdrop.

We highly recommend Latchi water sports. We hired a boat on a couple of occasions and it is a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon. We also received a discount through Let’s Rent Online. We had lovely meals at Santa Barbara and The Watermill.

Very satisfied with your service. Any queries are very quickly responded to and the information provided is excellent. Very satisfied locally also. I made contact with the local manager a couple of times and received immediate responses. They were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. ''

''Fantastic villa! By far the best villa I’ve ever stayed at. Stunning location! The views around the villa I could never get tired of. Latchi boat hire was amazing and was one the highlights of the holiday. The old town restaurant and herb garden were the best restaurants that we went to and also Duomos was great.

As usual your service was 1st class. Locally, Debbie couldn’t do enough for us and was so friendly'

''Thanks for your email. We would like to let you know about our experience staying at the Lost Castle, Pelathousa. The property is absolutely stunning! The house was immaculate upon arrival. It has been rented out as a home, not just a rental villa. It is equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage. The outdoor sitting areas are vast. The fireplace on the upstairs terrace which we utilised on an evening was fantastic. We have never seen so may stars in the sky! No light pollution to spoil the night sky. We had the pool heated and WoW it was like getting in the bath!

The location is fantastic! Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet. Only a ten minute drive from Polis village and the beach. We were more than satisfied with the agents. They were very helpful. We met the owners on our second day and they were lovely people who could not do enough for us. We do not think the Lost castle could be improved upon. It is perfect and we want to live there all the time! We usually visit Cyprus twice a year (April & October) and we will definitely attempt to book the Lost Castle again. ''

''Perfect villa, real value for money. Absolutely stunning location. Away from the busyness of a town, yet it feels safe and secure. A 5 km drive takes you to all the shops you need, including supermarkets. More than satisfied with all service received. Can’t think of anything to complain about! We had a lovely time in Cyprus. ''

''The Lost Castle was perfect in every way. A very homely and relaxing villa. The villa was completed to a very high standard inside and out. With excellent tech facilities. The villa has exceptional views which are breathtaking. The area is very peaceful. Debbie was very welcoming and approachable. We made the most of the Latchi water sports discount and used this business 3 times during our stay. They are very helpful and great with kids e.g. adapting trips etc. We ate, in both, Latchi and Polis and had lovely meals, but our favourite place to eat is The Watermill in Steni. This is our 3rd trip to the area and have visited this restaurant many, many times. They are welcoming, very helpful and the food is lovely and fresh. ''

''The villa was excellent and more than we could have hoped for. We felt we were staying in a well-appointed home rather than a holiday villa. The location was ideal for us and just what we were looking for. Seclusion, quiet and privacy. The panoramic views were breath-taking, the silence delightful and we felt we could almost touch the stars at night.

The Old Town restaurant in Polis was our favourite, fine dining at a cost but good value once or twice during a short visit. The partridge ravioli has to be tried. The Herb Garden in Polis is also worth a visit. A good menu and vibrant atmosphere in the evening and value for money but a little over lit. The chocolate shop at Platres is a must to visit. Slightly eccentric and the handmade chocolates are just the best. We hired a power boat from Latchi water sports for half a day, not cheap and thank you for the discount, but really good fun. Excellent service here. Really strong on safety without being overly officious.

You were great guys. Really good pre-visit literature and prompt responses to our questions. Debbie and Adam were very supportive and attentive while giving us the privacy we were looking for. They were very much hosts and they made us feel very welcome and cared for. It was perfect for us and a very special place to visit. ''

''We had a fabulous holiday. The villa was perfect & in a lovely location, very quiet which is exactly what we wanted. The owners Debbie & Adam were lovely, very friendly & helpful. We are already thinking about returning next year! We didn't really eat out much as we just wanted to relax at the villa, but we did eat at The Herb Garden restaurant in polis which was fabulous, the food was delicious.

The local village shop had everything we needed & the owner was very helpful & friendly, he even sourced us some fresh herbs & local olive oil. Thank you for sorting out our holiday we will definitely be booking through you again, we have been looking at Debbie's other villa the lost castle which we are very tempted to book. Kind regards and huge thanks. Richard & Anita''

''Superb, quality of fixtures and fittings was excellent. The location is secluded but close enough to Polis etc for restaurants, supermarkets etc. We recommend, The Old Town Restaurant in Polis, Santa Barbara Beach Bar in Argaka. More than happy with your service - very proactive re offers, responses to emails all very good. Very professional, always felt that you were on top of the booking. Yes very satisfied with the owner, very friendly and helpful, lovely lady. Hopefully be back again next year''.

''The villa was excellent in every way. The location is remote, private and exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful country side scenery. Polis Town has many good restaurant and a very good super market.
Would recommend your agency to friends and family. Excellent service and very good communication. ''.

''Many thanks for your usual diligence concerning our letting of The Lost Castle villa in Cyprus. We had a very positive experience in the delightful villa and very secluded and scenic location. The villa is well equipped and the layout and stonework of the building is one of the best we have seen. Many spacious areas to sit or lie and and much thought has been given to the design for a truly relaxing break. The hammocks are a very nice addition and should be tried by everyone. The expansive views are very much a recommended part of this villa. The relative solitude that the location provides was perfect for us and only a 10 minute or so drive to the town of Polis which is very manageable even on the hilly and winding road.

The owners Debbie and Adam were very helpful and replied and attended straight away to any problem that arose . The directions to the villa are very good as, even though we are familiar with the area to a degree, it was obviously very dark on the journey but we found the villa exactly as directed.

We have been satisfied previously with LetsRentOnline as this is our third booking with you and have not been disappointed this year again. Debbie spoke very highly of you and the service you provide and I concurred from a letters viewpoint too.
Thank you on behalf of my wife and myself for your usual customer service and attention to detail. It is much appreciated and nice to have such a personal and relaxed feel to the process of booking which can be lost with some other companies. We would love to say we intend to book a villa at some point in the future with you ''.

''Yes we had a lovely time. We found the property as described, clean and very tidy all the equipment was of a high quality and all worked. The location was just what we had been looking for, very isolated and private, but not to far away from civilisation. Just walking outside the door, with so many lovely walks you do need to go far. I would recommend the Hotel in Lusos the food was lovely and good value . I would say let rent online is the best service we have ever had, we in the past have used many agency's and Lets Rent are by far the best. Very happy with the communication that we had with the owner. We will to return to Cyprus soon and will more then likely rebook with you for next year''.

''Magnificent villa, panoramic views are stunning and had all the mod cons you need. The fireplace was wonderful as well as the free logs. The location is peaceful and idyllic. I recommend Mikes coffee shop Lysos and Milos in Latchi, very friendly staff. Fabulous agent service, spot on! Very satisfied with owner locally also. Thanks and keep in touch''.

''The villa was absolutely amazing, well laid out, clean and spacious. As described, the property was very private and secluded you really could hear a pin drop as described. The views were absolutely spectacular. We went to Moustakallis, Finikas both in Polis. Both were very nice and I would definitely recommend them. We also went to Fitos tavern in Lysos. This was recommended to us by Debbie and Adam. We had the traditional menu and it was lovely. Tombs of the Kings was interesting as was the shopping centre in Paphos. Baths of Aphrodite were worth a visit but perhaps we could have been prepared for the long walk to the top! Yes we were satisfied with the service we got from you. We couldn't have asked for better communications from the owners. Debbie and Adam came to see us on our first day and recommended places to go and see. Debbie left us her mobile number and most days we communicated in this way. Adam checked the pool every day and we saw him in the tavern on the Thursday. Adam also picked and left us a huge box of fruit which was a lovely touch. I wish Debbie and Adam all the best in their new venture. They were amazingly helpful to us''.

''Much of what 'The Lost Castle' was about was the views. It is situated just a ten minute drive from Polis near the top of one side of a valley which runs down to the coast. Therefore, you have wonderful views across and up and down the valley all the way to the sea. The only other habitation you can see at the moment are whole villages sprinkled on the hills several miles away. It is possible to take in the views from just about every room in the house but also from the extensive lawned and paved area around the pool or the enormous 1st floor terrace that wraps itself round two sides of the house and is completed with an external staircase. If the weather does take an unlikely dodgy turn there is a thoughtfully provided large covered patio area with a ping pong table. And just to leave you in no doubt that this is a house built for family entertaining - we are provided with 3 outside barbecues.
The interior is extremely roomy - huge living room, fine family kitchen/diner with oak tables and chairs - 3 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, one containing that all important bath.

It would be possible to spend a week driving around the immediate area. There is a lovely little Byzantine church on your drive up from Polis to the property, well worth a tiny diversion. The next village, Peristerona, contains a beautiful little icon museum while Steni with its war memorial and Lysos are worth dropping in on. The views of the Evretou dam on the the way up to Fyti are spectacular. In Fyti itself you will find a very charming square with a great Taverna, a lovely church and a weaving shop/museum where you will be charming collared into buying some of work created there.
Polis itself is small and laidback with a great choice of eateries in the Old Town. Our favourite was 'The Art Cafe', a short walk from the main square towards the lovely park. A further 5-10 minute drive takes you to Latchi harbour where you can saunter along the cafe-filled promenade listening to the singing of the wind through the boats' rigging. Yet another short and very nice drive, this time along the coast takes you to the baths of Aphrodite. Further afield, the mosaics at Kato Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings, both consisting of extensive ruins between town and sea, are an absolute must, a couple of the most spectacular ancient sites sites we've ever visited.

Agents were great. They answered any query promptly. Everything was clear. The owner, Debbie, made a point of dropping in on us the night after we arrived. We never needed to contact her again, but we had her no. and would have been confident doing so. We might well visit Cyprus again soon - it seems a perfect place for a mid-October holiday. We have been lucky enough to have managed to afford a week's villa holiday in a Mediterranean country every year for the last 20 years''.
