For a reasonably small village, the choice and standard of restaurants is very good. We particularly liked Petradaki and The Farmyard (pan Asian). The Gin Bar is a focal point in the village, lovely place to stop for a drink and watch the world go by. The local mini-market stocks everything you'll need for a self-catering holiday. Sterna Winery is also well worth a visit.

We were very satisfied with the service provided by LetsRentOnline.com, and communication with the local managers or owner was excellent, extremely good in every respect.

The house is beautifully restored and thoughtfully designed, with all the necessary amenities and a very high level of comfort. It did feel a little cluttered with furniture and some spaces were tight, but this is clearly to accommodate up to six guests. The pool and outside area were superbly presented, very clean, not overlooked, and offered total privacy.

The location within the village is excellent, with everything needed within walking distance, including the vineyards. The only minor downside was some unexpected traffic noise from the back lane; however, when weighed against the convenience of the location, this was acceptable.

We ate out every night and tried the local restaurants. Yiannis and Tou Stekki were both traditional and rustic and very enjoyable. The gin bar was fine for a drink, and we enjoyed pizza there for our last lunch. The supermarket was excellent, with a lovely lady who helped us with everything we needed at competitive prices.

We spent several very enjoyable hours at Sterna Winery, with a well-advised tasting session followed by a superb platter and, of course, more wine. Their rosé wines are excellent, among the best we’ve tried, so we bought several bottles. As Kathikas is well located with good-quality roads, we also visited Latchi and booked a self-drive motorboat to explore the peninsula. Unfortunately, this was cancelled due to wind and choppy waters, but your recommendation of Latchi Watersports Centre was much appreciated. A must-visit is Pomos fisherman’s harbour, which is sensational, with a rustic beach bar and a great restaurant. We also ventured along the rough track to Adonis Waterfall and swam in the pool there, which was worthwhile either in a suitable car or by hiring a buggy. Another site worth visiting is the shipwreck at Sea Caves; the area is excellent, uncrowded, and has a great bar nearby.

Service from yourself was excellent from the initial booking onwards, with prompt responses to questions and helpful location information and deals. As everything went smoothly, we only contacted Aimee at the end of our stay to arrange for our luggage to be stored until our 1pm taxi.

It is quite likely we will return to Cyprus in 2027, and we also intend to book a villa in the Algarve next year. We are very happy for our comments to be passed on to help future guests.

We visited two tavernas in Kathikas, Yiannis Taverna and Fytos Grill House, both of which we would highly recommend. The little local supermarket was very nice and very convenient. We also rented a speedboat from Trident Boat Hire, who were very professional and friendly, and took a trip from Litsi Beach, about 20 minutes from the villa, out to the Blue Lagoon, which was a fantastic experience.

'''This is a review I wasn’t sure I wanted to write, as Anastasia’s House is so perfect that I didn’t really want the world to know about it! We enjoyed our stay so much that we rebooked for next year while we were still there, which says everything. This is why we thought it was so good.

The villa is incredibly comfortable. The bed and sofa were as good as those at home, and the linen and towels were of excellent quality. The water pressure was great and always hot. The kitchen was the best equipped we have ever experienced in a holiday villa – it genuinely had everything you could ever need. The TV worked perfectly, with easy access to Prime and Netflix, and there were games, books, yoga mats and thoughtful extras throughout. Everything had clearly been carefully considered. The air conditioning was efficient and easy to use, with clear instructions for all appliances provided. That said, Kathikas is higher up in the hills and noticeably cooler than Paphos, so with the doors and windows open we rarely needed the air conditioning. We also didn’t find mosquitoes to be a problem at all, likely thanks to the breeze.

The outside area is what this holiday is really all about and it is absolutely perfect. It is not overlooked at all and enjoys great sunshine. The pool gets the sun all day until around 6pm and was beautifully warm, an excellent size with Roman steps and very comfortable sunbeds. There is a large covered table by the villa door that stays shaded all day and is wonderful for long lunches, along with other sunny and shady spots that let you move around throughout the day. In the evenings, we loved sitting by the side of the villa watching the sunsets. There is also easy parking and excellent outdoor facilities.

Communication with both yourselves and Aimee and Jo, the villa managers, was fast, clear and extremely efficient. We were very impressed with the speed of responses and felt exceptionally well looked after throughout our stay.

Kathikas itself is a tranquil village, set slightly higher up with a welcome breeze and surrounded by stunning scenery. The roads are excellent, making it easy to reach Paphos, the airport and the mountains. The village shop is well stocked, open long hours and run by the loveliest people. We tried all the restaurants in the village. Our favourite was Maria’s Café, where we loved sitting on the balcony people-watching, and the calamari was outstanding. Yiannis had a great atmosphere, and the Farmhouse Kitchen served a delicious Thai curry. The gin bar was always buzzing, though not quite our style. One of our favourite trips was to Pomos, which we found perfect for snorkelling, with a lovely café above the beach.

As there were only two of us, we used just the master bedroom and found the villa perfect. For four people it would be ideal, and while it might feel cosy for six during the winter months, in summer this wouldn’t matter at all as you live outdoors and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all very generous.

All in all, I can thoroughly recommend Anastasia’s House – and I feel happy to do so now that our booking for next year is secure! 😂 We can’t wait to return and are already checking flights to see if we can squeeze in another short trip before then.

'''Our Thoughts on Anastasia’s House- Kathikas

Anastasia’s House was the perfect find for myself and 2 friends. We cannot find fault with it at all. Our week stay was most enjoyable and comfortable all due to the villa.

The location was right for us, a few minutes walk to the small local village which had a selection of tavernas/ restaurant’s and the ‘Gin Bar’ which we recommend a visit to. We also ate at Stekke and Yiannis, both excellent food and service.

Outside the villa it is very spacious with plenty of sunbeds, towels, seating area, sun umbrellas, bar b que and of course the swimming pool had plenty of use. There is no need to take anything for the kitchen, everything and I mean absolutely everything is in the cupboards, every detail has been thought of. Plenty of bathroom towels too.

During the run up to our holiday to Cyprus I was kept fully informed of details regarding what was needed from us to make our holiday run as smoothly as possible, which it did. I did have some questions for the letting manager, Steven, who was extremely prompt in replying to my emails. Patient too, as sometimes I had to ask more than once for him to forward me info that he’d already done! Thank you Steven, you were most helpful.

If I am lucky enough to come to Cyprus again, without doubt I would book to stay in Anastasia’s House.
