The villa has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, (en-suite to master with Jacuzzi bath and king-sized bed) and sleeps 6. It has a 8m x 4m private swimming pool with roman steps (can be heated), separate children’s splash pool, full air-conditioning and central heating, TV with Satellite & DVD, washing machine, an open fire (for those cooler winter evenings) large stone built bbq, a well-manicured lawn area for children to play, a quality set of swings & see-saw for the children to play on, air-conditioning, wireless internet and more. The setting is both serene and spectacular with the rolling hills of the nearby villages and the not too distant sea at Latchi giving views you'll remember forever. Peristerona village centre is just 200m away from Villa Triteos and where you will find a taste of the ‘real Cyprus’. With its mini-market selling fresh (natural) organic produce, coffee shops and friendly locals, you won’t have to travel far to get the most out of your holiday. The nearby village of Steni (2km) provides a further choice of coffee shop and traditional taverna for dining during the day or in the evening. In nearby Lysos (5km) you will find a well known hotel (Paradisos Hills) with excellent restaurant, a further taverna, and a few other shops. Activities in Lysos include horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and many walks and mountain bike trails for those who like to be active. Peristerona is primarily an agricultural village producing citrus-fruit vegetables, cereals, olives and almonds. The name Peristerona derives from the Greek word for dove or pigeon (peristeri). The church, St. Barnabas and Hilarion Church, has five domes on the roof arranged in the shape of a cross, a feature only seen on one other church in the island. Peristerona is always a very green village due to the lush vegetation. It all looks particularly special in winter and spring months and is ideal for photographers, artists and those who like to walk and even hike. It is also home to the famous ‘museum of Arsinoe’ showcasing a stunning collection of Byzantine artefacts. Slightly further afield, you will find further amenities such as supermarkets (3km), pharmacy, petrol station, and the more extensive choice of bars, restaurants, shops etc in Polis (8km). The nearest beach is at Latchi (12km) which is well known as one of the best on the island. You can relax and sun-bathe on the golden sand by the crystal clear waters, sit in the marina and enjoy lunch eating the day’s fresh catch or for the more adventurous there is a great choice of watersports available for all the family. |

''The atmosphere has to be experienced. It cannot come across on any photos the sounds, smells and warmth by day and by night. The views down to the Sea at Latchi and the Sunsets are amazing and can be had whilst having a drink or dinner at the terrace on the table. Everything inside the villa is very comfortable and of good quality. The wi-fi works brilliantly and is very fast. All the people are friendly and the owner does a good job of looking after you also. The welcome pack was amazing and we didnt need to shop for the first 24 hours. There is a local shop with just about everything you need within a 5 minute walk. There were lovely restaurants in Polis but we also had a great time and meal at the local coffee shop in Steni. We hired a boat at Latchi and swam in the blue lagoon. This was definitely the highlight for us. We really did have a great holiday at Villa Triteos and cannot recommend it enough''. |

Villa Triteos, Peristerona near Polis, Paphos District, Cyprus DistancesLatchi Beach, Sea: 12km to Latchi Pharmacy/Hospital: 8km Peristerona
Peristerona is a traditional mountain village in Paphos District, Cyprus. It's a picturesque village famous for its efforts to maintain the beauty and the traditions of Cyprus. Peristerona is primarily an agricultural village producing cereals, olives and almonds with its wonderful climate producing many delightful fruits and vegetables such as cherries, avocado, mango, watermelons, apples, lemons and oranges in abundance.
In various locations around Peristerona there are many remarkable landmark churches. Ayios Georgios was built in the 13th century where frescoes of Saint Mama can be found and it’s still protected by the antiquities department. Churches such as Panayia Chryselousa constructed at the end of the 15th century with Byzantine and Gothic elements, Profitis Elias, Ayios Constantinos, Ayios Charalambos and the country church of Archangel Michael provide for a unique perspective of the village’s history.
The famous museum of Arsinoe displays an attractive collection of objects from the Byzantine period, including Byzantine icons from the 13th to 19th centuries, as well as wood carved ecclesiastical items, local and imported silver and metal artefacts as well as textiles. Rare books and manuscripts are also on display. Peristerona is situated between the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the spectacular mountains of Paphos Forest and the Troodos. Walking in the forests is a delight. Filled with pine trees, fruit and olive trees, wild flowers and herbs and vineyards the air is scented and the views spectacular. The nearby village of Steni (also steeped in tradition) hosts a coffee shop with wireless internet access and a very good traditional taverna. Travel a little further into the hills and you will find Lysos, which has a very good horse riding school and is also home to a very good traditional Cyprus taverna, with neighbouring shops and the more widely known Paradisos Hills Hotel which does an excellent Sunday buffet as well as a themed Indian night on a Friday. Heading back towards the coastline and you will find the small town of Polis. There is plenty of activity to choose from in Polis, whether you wish to dine in one of the many good quality restaurants, have a coffee or lunch in the central square, hire mountain bikes, quad bikes or maybe even a boat! The nearby Latchi beach is renowned as one of the best in Cyprus and not as crowded as the beaches in and around Paphos itself. Latchi beach is famous for its clear blue sea, soft white sand and a great selection of watersports which are readily available. The watersports available at Latchi include diving, snorkelling, sailing, banana rides and a great deal more. Bring your UK driving licence and you can even hire a boat and explore the Akamas coast from the sea. Drop anchor when you feel like it and swim or snorkel in the warm crystal blue water of the Mediterranean Sea. For the more adventurous, you can explore the Akamas nature reserve and go all the way round to Lara Beach famous for its turtles and another wonderful unspoilt beach. You can also venture to the nearby villages of Miliou, Droushia and Panagia or further on to Kathikas with its vineyards and wineries. Other fantastic scenery can be taken in at Cedar Valley and the Troodos mountain range where in winter, you can even ski! Paphos airport is 40 minutes away by very good quality roads with English road signs. Visit Peristerona (for a taste of the real Cyprus) and you won’t be disappointed.
