"Hi, The villa was spacious and well maintained and located in a superb rural setting. There were local grocery shops a couple of minutes drive from the villa and larger shops in Polis which is around a fifteen minute drive. In Polis there were also plenty of restaurants to choose from. If you have a car I would say that the whole of Cyprus is pretty much a sightseeing trip though I would especially recommend a trip to the mountains and along coast of the Akamas Peninsula. The service provided by LetsRentOnline.Com was faultless as was that provided by the owner. In Britain we have a saying 'If it isn't broken, don't try and fix it', and bearing that in mind I would have to say that I have no suggestions of how to improve the service. We would love to visit Cyprus again and if we did so we would definitely want to stay in one of your villas. You may use my name and comments if you wish. I would just like to add that throughout the whole process of booking the villa we were made to feel confident and well informed by yourselves. Thank you very much. Steve and Family.''

"The villa was very good. The Villa turned out to be everything we hoped for. The swimming pool was magnificent and also the view. The Location is also very well, not within walking distance to the village or shops. But not too far by car. Latchi Watersport for renting a speedboat, wonderful experience. Paradisos Hill Hotel for a Sunday Lunch really worth it, great food. No complaints, everything very clear. Communications via the email and chat very helpful and easy. Katrina & Dimitri were very kind and helpful.''

"The property was amazing, everything you need. The location is superb. We like quiet and out of the way so it suited us perfectly, there is everything you need in Polis which is only a 10 min drive and if you want more it's too far to Paphos. There are some lovely restaurants and tavernas in Polis, try Finikas, Moustakallas and Chix Chos, all very good and the staff are very attentive. There are plenty in Latsi too but they are slightly more expensive. Take a drive up the Troodos mountains, the views are spectacular. The service provided by Letsrentonline.com was as usual very good!''

"The Villa was beautiful, clean, well equipped. There was not a thing to find fault with. the swimming pool was lovely and it was good to have the play area for the little ones. The setting was beautiful, surrounded by fruit trees and on a hill with fabulous views. We loved Imogens tavern in nearby village, Chix Chox in Polis.Big supermarkets in Polis very good. Service by Lets Rent online was very good. We saw the owners a couple of times. They were charming and gave us delicious fruit. We had no problems so did not need to contact them for advice. we would love to return to the Retreat at some future time..''

"Arrived fairly late and tired, once we had managed to sort our hire car at the airport and rush to a supermarket to buy some essentials. What a lovely villa The Retreat is. The Villa was immaculate and there was a welcome pack of food including bread, spread, cheese, ham, milk, water, coffee, tea and sugar. There was also a huge bowl of fruit and some much-appreciated wine. On seeing the villa in the daylight the following day we were not disappointed, the views were stunning and the sunbathing area and swimming pool were just as shown on all the websites. When there was a problem with the TV not working and the safe being locked, Katherina and Dimitri couldn't have been more helpful and came out straight away to sort out any problem. The villages of Polis and Latchi are very close and the beach at Polis was very quiet with a cafe and toilets. Latchi seems to be an up and coming village/town and the harbour area is lovely - when you find it! Great meal in Faros, Latchi - look out for the waiter with the unusual accent and try to work out where he is from! Agios Georgios is pretty for a visit and a quiet sit on the harbour. Would advise you avoid the mountain roads unless you are very brave and certainly if it is dark - what a scary experience that was, dirt tracks (with occasional road signs) on the road out of Pomos! We had lovely weather too with cloud on only one day and it was the end of October. Would thoroughly recommend The Retreat as a break away from it all. Many thanks to the owners for this lovely villa and ensuring we had a restful holiday''.

Peristerona

Peristerona is a traditional mountain village in Paphos District, Cyprus. It's a picturesque village famous for its efforts to maintain the beauty and the traditions of Cyprus.

Peristerona is primarily an agricultural village producing cereals, olives and almonds with its wonderful climate producing many delightful fruits and vegetables such as cherries, avocado, mango, watermelons, apples, lemons and oranges in abundance. The name Peristerona derives from the Greek word for dove or pigeon (peristeri). The church, St. Barnabas and Hilarion Church, has five domes on the roof arranged in the shape of a cross, a feature only seen on one other church in the island. Peristerona is always a very green village due to the lush vegetation. It all looks particularly special in winter and spring months and is ideal for photographers, artists and those who like to walk and even hike.

In various locations around Peristerona there are many remarkable landmark churches. Ayios Georgios was built in the 13th century where frescoes of Saint Mama can be found and it’s still protected by the antiquities department. Churches such as Panayia Chryselousa constructed at the end of the 15th century with Byzantine and Gothic elements, Profitis Elias, Ayios Constantinos, Ayios Charalambos and the country church of Archangel Michael provide for a unique perspective of the village’s history.

The famous museum of Arsinoe displays an attractive collection of objects from the Byzantine period, including Byzantine icons from the 13th to 19th centuries, as well as wood carved ecclesiastical items, local and imported silver and metal artefacts as well as textiles. Rare books and manuscripts are also on display.

Peristerona is situated between the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the spectacular mountains of Paphos Forest and the Troodos. Walking in the forests is a delight. Filled with pine trees, fruit and olive trees, wild flowers and herbs and vineyards the air is scented and the views spectacular.

The nearby village of Steni (also steeped in tradition) hosts a coffee shop with wireless internet access and a very good traditional taverna.

Travel a little further into the hills and you will find Lysos, which has a very good horse riding school and shooting range and is also home to a very good traditional Cyprus taverna, with neighbouring shops and the more widely known Paradisos Hills Hotel which does an excellent Sunday buffet as well as a themed Indian night on a Friday.

Heading back towards the coastline and you will find the small town of Polis. There is plenty of activity to choose from in Polis, whether you wish to dine in one of the many good quality restaurants, have a coffee or lunch in the central square, hire mountain bikes, quad bikes or maybe even a boat!

The nearby Latchi beach is renowned as one of the best in Cyprus and not as crowded as the beaches in and around Paphos itself. Latchi beach is famous for its clear blue sea, soft white sand and a great selection of watersports which are readily available. The watersports available at Latchi include diving, snorkelling, sailing, banana rides and a great deal more. Bring your UK driving licence and you can even hire a boat and explore the Akamas coast from the sea. Drop anchor when you feel like it and swim or snorkel in the warm crystal blue water of the Mediterranean Sea.

For the more adventurous, you can explore the Akamas nature reserve and go all the way round to Lara Beach famous for its turtles and another wonderful unspoilt beach.

You can also venture to the nearby villages of Miliou, Droushia and Panagia or further on to Kathikas with its vineyards and wineries. Other fantastic scenery can be taken in at Cedar Valley and the Troodos mountain range where in winter, you can even ski!

Paphos airport is 40 minutes away by very good quality roads with English road signs. Visit Peristerona (for a taste of the real Cyprus) and you won’t be disappointed.
