Covid 19- Corona Virus Crisis

Traveller Information– (Latest Update- 29-10-2020- 19.00hrs)

First published 18th March 2020

All Passengers Must Have a Cyprus Flight Pass to Enter. New Call centre Opened to Assist Passengers with this. Details Below

Due to the high volume of contact about this subject we are posting our current policies in regards affected bookings by the Covid 19 virus. We apologise for any delays in personalised email responses at this time.

Cyprus has been successful in containing the virus as much as possible with fewer cases than many countries. Research will show the low number of cases continues due to contact tracing and testing. Cyprus started exiting lockdown in stages starting from 4th May with relative normality by Mid-June. Citizens have had freedom of movement since 21st May and Beaches re-opened on 23rd May. The airports are opened to visitors from 9th June with categories of visitors permitted to travel depending on epidemiological data from their home countries.

Hotels and Tourist Accommodation are permitted to open from 1st June 2020 and tourists will all be made very welcome. UK Traverllers have been coming and going successfully since 1st August using the Cyprus Flight Pass system (details below)

Quote ‘The Republic of Cyprus has decided to cover the accommodation and healthcare costs for anyone who tests positive after traveling to Cyprus. “We have informed our partners that if someone tests positive in Cyprus, we will ensure everything”, Savvas Perdios (deputy minister for tourism) said’.

Cyprus Flight Pass

Cyprus has placed countries of origin in specific categories with different entry requirements based on the Category.

All travellers to Cyprus must register for a Cyprus Flight Pass before flying:

Up to Date Details of Categories can be found at: (note the link re future changes which also outlines health protocols on arrival)

From June 20, passengers from Group A will not be required to present a certificate they have undergone a coronavirus test.

Those from Group B will have to submit such a certificate from a recognised lab no older than 72 hours prior to departure. For children aged 12 and under, regardless of the Category in which their country of origin falls, a laboratory diagnostic test is not required at Cypriot Airports nor is the presentation of a negative test certificate from their country of origin

Note: Please check travel regulations and entry requirements directly in your own country. We cannot be responsible for providing this information. Please seek information from the airline you are travelling with also.

NHS Tests (correct as published by local press on 31st July 2020)

Passengers arriving from category B countries need to present a negative coronavirus (RT-PCR) certificate not older than 72 hours. Passengers are required to upload the negative Covid-19 test certificate clearly indicating the date and time the test was conducted (within the last 72 hours before departure time).

In the case of arrivals from the UK, the ministry said people with an NHS test certificate need to upload on the CyprusFlightPass online form, in a single document (pdf, jpeg):

  1. a)    A negative “NHS Covid-19 notification”
  2. b)    “Test Site Pass” (Appointment Confirmation email) clearly indicating the date and time of the test appointment. The 72 hours timeframe counts from the scheduled time of the appointment.

In addition to obtaining the CyprusFlightPass, passengers are required to carry with them, in hard copy or electronically, both documents (a and b as above).

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced the operation of a call centre meant for the service of passengers who intend to travel from abroad to Cyprus and may have questions regarding the use of the electronic platform “CyprusFlightPass”. In a statement, the Ministry of Transport stated that the call centre will be operational from August 1st, 2020 and will be able to receive inquiries by phone at +(357) 24841234 and in writing through the online platform at

The statement concludes that working hours of the call centre will be: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 22:00 Cyprus time, Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00 Cyprus time.

Should your origin of travel be from a country not on the list of permitted countries (Cat A or B), please contact us to arrange new dates

Terms for Moving Dates (if agreed and necessary):

The new booking must be the same villa, of equivalent or greater value as the original and be made as soon as possible after it is clear you will not be travelling for the original dates (within 72 hours unless agreed otherwise) (applicable weekly rates for new dates apply) Our Terms and Conditions apply from date of original booking (contact us for clarifications and arrangements)

If dates are not moved as per the terms noted and/or balance not paid when requested, then it is deemed you have cancelled the booking and appropriate actions taken as per the terms and conditions.

All deposits are non-refundable (see summary below)

Priority will be given to those that have already made balance payments. If dates are not moved by date of arrival and/or balance not paid when requested, then it is deemed you have cancelled the booking and appropriate actions taken as per the terms and conditions.

Our terms and conditions (see link below) are in line with those agreed to at time of booking and our contracts with the villa owners. The moving of dates (if required) is based on new agreements made with the owners as a goodwill gesture and in order to try and provide solutions for everyone affected.

NB: Although feedback from most guests so far has been extremely positive about our position with overwhelming grattitude towards our solutions, this has not always been the case. It is sometimes easy just to look at our own situation but there are a lot of people involved and affected in this process. We hope everyone can consider this as a time to come together and think of the wider implications of the crisis as a whole. Some of the terms below have had to be refined due to attempts to exploit.

All deposits are non-refundable (see summary below)

PEAK SUMMER/AUTUMN arrivals from UK, Russia and other countries not on the initial list

Category B status confirmed for UK travellers as of 1st August.

It is the responsibility of the travellers to ensure they follow the protocols as in the links above.

Here is some information from the British Embassy in Cyprus:

Normal terms and conditions apply at this time. Balances should be paid at time of reminder. We do not wish to cancel bookings but regretfully cannot defer balance payments.

If there are severe restrictions on travel we will offer to move bookings up to end of 2021. We will only offer such moves if the balance has been paid. The above is based on new agreements made with the owners as a goodwill gesture and in order to try and provide solutions for everyone affected. We cannot guarantee to provide the exact same dates as the original and can only work with availability at the time the move becomes the necessary option. Please check for terms and clarifications if moving a booking in this period.

Cyprus’ tourism ministers are reviewing data each week in order to welcome more countries’ tourists. This will be largely based on epidemiological data from the country of origin.

UK Quarantine from Cyprus (please note that being asked to self isolate on return home to country of origin is not deemed as a severe restriction)

(Update: Quarantine on return home from Cyprus Applies from 4am on Sun 1st Nov 2020)

UK arrivals permitted from 1st August 2020. Protocols in Links Above. Category B status confirmed.

All deposits are non-refundable (see summary below)

Outwith the information above, our normal terms and conditions apply and take precedence (see below). Particular attention can of course be made to the ‘Cancellation Policy’, ‘Force Majeure’ and our Strong Recommendation for ‘Travel Insurance’ at time of booking (before the crisis and changes to policies were adopted by some insurers). We cannot be held responsible for decisions of authorities or airlines. We advertise and arrange the villa only.

All deposits are non-refundable. We cannot guarantee that above policies can or will be continued.
