First published 2021 update on 14th April 2021

**All information provided is subject to Change and we are not responsible for arranging or advising on these matters. This is for information purposes only and to provide general assistances**

All Passengers Must Have a ‘Flight Pass’ to Enter Cyprus. New Call centre Opened to Assist Passengers with this. Details Below

Due to the high volume of contact about this subject we are posting our current policies in regards affected bookings by the Covid 19 virus. We apologise for any delays in personalised email responses at this time.

Cyprus has been successful in containing the virus as much as possible with fewer cases than many countries (currently single digit numbers of positive tests in Paphos). Research will show the low number of cases continues due to contact tracing and testing. It also has one of the highest testing rates in the World. Cyprus is easing restrictions and vaccinating its own population as quickly as possible. The airports are open to visitors from 1st April 2021 with categories of visitors permitted to travel depending on epidemiological data from their home countries. Vaccinated passengers can enter freely (both doses required)

Tourists are arriving from UK and elsewhere every day now. (18th May 2021)

27th April 2021: Cyprus will open its doors to vaccinated tourists, regardless of their country of origin, from 10 May, when the current lockdown is scheduled to be lifted, said Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios on Monday. “We will inform our partners abroad that from 10 May, entry will be allowed to those who have been vaccinated from the 65 countries without a test or quarantine,” said Perdios. He said the 65 countries Cyprus is opening up to are EU member states, the European Economic Area such as Norway and Iceland, Switzerland, Armenia and other third countries such as Bahrain, Canada, Egypt, Israel, Kuwait, the UAE, the UK, and the USA.

Cyprus Flight Pass

07-05-21– The Cyprus Flight Pass gives freedom of movement around the island for tourists. It can be printed or shown on mobile phone to gain entry to all amenities that require it. This is great news for tourists visiting the island (see 8th May update below on UK travel to Cyprus)

There is now a Traffic Light System in place with countries placed in one of 4 categories depending on data. These are Green, Orange, Red and Grey. There will be regular updates (every 1-2 weeks) based on data at the time. Further information can be found at: https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/

All travellers to Cyprus must register for a Cyprus Flight Pass before flying: https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/

Up to Date Details of Categories can be found at: https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/en/country-categories

The protocols which will also be updated periodically can be found at: https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/uploads/docs/ca578302fa.pdf

Note: Please check travel regulations and entry requirements directly in your own country. We cannot be responsible for providing this information. Please seek information from the airline you are travelling with also.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced the operation of a call centre meant for the service of passengers who intend to travel from abroad to Cyprus and may have questions regarding the use of the electronic platform “CyprusFlightPass”. In a statement, the Ministry of Transport stated that the call centre will be operational from August 1st, 2020 and will be able to receive inquiries by phone at +(357) 24841234 and in writing through the online platform at https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/el/contact-us.

Arrivals from UK up to and including 17th May 2021

Orange Category status confirmed for UK travellers (to Cyprus) except for those who have had and can prove both doses of vaccine as of 1st April. Vaccinated passengers (from all countries) can enter freely.

It has been agreed that bookings can be moved if arrival is on or before 17th May 2021 due to legal restrictions on outbound travel from UK and other countries

Terms for Moving Dates (if agreed and necessary):

The new booking must be the same villa, of equivalent or greater value as the original and be made as soon as possible after it is clear you will not be travelling for the original dates (within 72 hours unless agreed otherwise) (applicable weekly rates for new dates apply) Our Terms and Conditions apply from date of original booking and original dates of staying (contact us for clarifications and arrangements)

If dates are not moved as per the terms noted and/or balance not paid when requested, then it is deemed you have cancelled the booking and appropriate actions taken as per the terms and conditions.

All deposits are non-refundable (see summary below)

Priority will be given to those that have already made balance payments. If dates are not moved by date of arrival and/or balance not paid when requested, then it is deemed you have cancelled the booking and appropriate actions taken as per the terms and conditions.

Our terms and conditions (see link below) are in line with those agreed to at time of booking and our contracts with the villa owners. The moving of dates (if required) is based on new agreements made with the owners as a goodwill gesture and in order to try and provide solutions for everyone affected.

Arrivals from 18th May onwards (UK now in Orange Category for Travel to Cyprus – 1st May 2021)

Normal terms and conditions apply at this time. Balances should be paid at time of reminder. We do not wish to cancel bookings but regretfully cannot defer balance payments.

It is becoming normal for flight providers to cancel and change dates. We cannot be responsible for this and at time of writing EasyJet and other airlines are offering flights to Paphos from 19th May 2021

If there are severe restrictions on travel (See Cyprus Law section below) we will offer to move bookings up to end of 2022. We will only offer such moves if the balance has been paid. The above is based on new agreements made with the owners as a goodwill gesture and in order to try and provide solutions for everyone affected. We cannot guarantee to provide the exact same dates as the original and can only work with availability at the time the move becomes the necessary option. Please check for terms and clarifications if moving a booking in this period. (See Cyprus Law section below)

Cyprus’ tourism ministers are reviewing data each week in order to welcome more countries’ tourists. This will be largely based on epidemiological data from the country of origin.

The UK government laid out its own traffic light system in Early May and travel started on 18th May

Update 8th May 2021: UK has placed most European countries in an Amber Category for foreign travel. This will be reviewed every 3 weeks as reported by Grant Shapps

Update: 17th JuneUK considering relaxation of protocols for Amber List countries

New 24th June 2021: Cyprus is still an amber country from UK. Another review will be made on 15th July for travel very soon after. It is not illegal to travel to an Amber or Red Country. UK to change and relax guidelines on travel to Amber List countries during July. Fully Vaccinated travellers will not be required to self-isolate on return to UK

See Details on Tests Below. Test and Release after 5 days possible when returning from Amber category countries. Departure Test on UK side not necessary if you have had both doses of vaccine.

UK Quarantine/Self-Isolation from Cyprus (please note that being asked to self isolate at home on return to country of origin is not deemed as a severe restriction- Please see Cyprus Law Section below)

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance providers CoverForYou, Cedar Tree and Outbacker have announced they are providing cover for travellers to countries listed as amber and red on the official government traffic light list

NB: Although feedback from most guests so far has been extremely positive about our position with overwhelming grattitude towards our solutions, this has not always been the case. Some of the terms have had to be refined due to attempts to exploit . All deposits are non-refundable (see summary below)

It is the responsibility of the travellers to ensure they follow the protocols as in the links above.

NEW 2nd SEPT 2021– A portacabin has just been set up at Paphos airport to do the tests pre-departure also. It’s a walk-in service that gives results in 30 mins. On our visit, they said come 1 hour before your normal arrival time and they give you a certificate. Its only 10 euros and they say it is accepted by easyjet etc. A real life guest has done it already and all was good but they went the day before.

NHS (correct as published by local press on 31st July 2020)

Passengers arriving from categories that need to present a negative coronavirus (RT-PCR) certificate not older than 72 hours. Passengers are required to upload the negative Covid-19 test certificate clearly indicating the date and time the test was conducted (within the last 72 hours before departure time).

In the case of arrivals from the UK, the ministry said people with an NHS test certificate need to upload on the CyprusFlightPass online form, in a single document (pdf, jpeg):

  1. a)    A negative “NHS Covid-19 notification”
  2. b)    “Test Site Pass” (Appointment Confirmation email) clearly indicating the date and time of the test appointment. The 72 hours timeframe counts from the scheduled time of the appointment.

In addition to obtaining the CyprusFlightPass, passengers are required to carry with them, in hard copy or electronically, both documents (a and b as above).

The statement concludes that working hours of the call centre will be: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 22:00 Cyprus time, Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00 Cyprus time. (UK + 2)
